#4 Song of Night, Book 2

Song of Night, book 2 - The Economy Collapses, the Streets Crowd with the Jobless

The nightly storm shall perturb the Earth, drying up the people's hearts

Whereby humans on terra firma will lose their jobs and means of living

In the cities, some of those who have lost the money to acquire food

Will take or steal grub away

For man must eat in order to survive

And the cash to purchase food cannot be gained without a job

In a society where trading money for food is considered just

Ultimately, for reasons of survival

Thievery, looting and fraud will become rampant

Yet, nobody

Has the right to say: starve instead of taking and stealing

The authorities will oppress them down using brute force to prevent the act

But even with such an army

None can stop the power of those trying to survive

Nor the desire of all born upon this planet to live

The numerous others who, today, acquire a decent living

And spend everyday as ordinary, responsible citizens

Shall transform into angry mobs, driven by the simple reason of losing their jobs

Taking food away by force and wreak havoc onto society

And amid such chaos

The pillaging by the jobless, along wih their families and children

Shall exponentially spread confusion across the globe

Shaking up the very basis of monetized economy that had stood until then

As giant corporations, too, only function

Under the order of today's monetized economy, logistics and trade

And earn vast amounts of wealth

Chaos in the consumption dimension among the cities

Shall bring financial turmoil to nations around the world

Large enough to threaten the very existence of such enterprises

But

Having those blessed with birth on this planet starve

Because they do not have the money to buy food despite there being plenty

Is not something man can force onto others

In fact, there is enough food to go around the planet

Inside some warehouse and various stores

And even those without the money to purchase these food

Have the right to consume them

Yet the authoritative organs of every nation

Will likely be determined not to allow such mobs or riots

And deserpately try to put them down

Those who have never been hungry or starved

Can never understand the agony of an empty stomach

Both humans and animals

At times they are starving for days without any food to eat

Cannot be bound by any demand for social order

As all they can do is survive, taking food by force, risking their lives

For this is a justified right granted to all living things given birth on this planet

All beings are born striving to survive

That is the true nature of life

Thus, to avoid death

Mankind will continue to fight using all their might

Clashing over food on the streets of every city in every nation

They will quarrel over water from a single faucet, spreading the chaos

The bitter cold shall batter these people as well

Those who have lost the means to avoid the rain have no choice but to live on the streets

And when their health starts to deteriorate

Some will freeze to death

Thus making clothes, blankets and other essentials to avoid the cold

Into loot, along with fabric to produce tents

It is because mass disasters and wars

Will result in mass numbers of people losing their homes

Megalopolises like Tokyo, New York, London and Paris, too,

Will be home to many living on the streets

It will be a sight unimaginable for us who still witness the majesty of these cities

For Japan, as Tokyo was reduced to ashes by the end of the war,

What is to come might be significantly better

Since it will not be gutted by blazes this time

Yet many, having lost homes to return to,

Will be forced to live on the streets

In New York, subway tunnels and underground shelters

Could be something that will be fought over

Many people will first-handedly witness death

Learning that humans are living beings

And they, too, will eventually die

Upon realizing the impending death

They will also learn

That the desire to want this, that and more

In this age of affluence

Materialism they had thought would bring satisfaction

Actually is worthless

Electronics, cars, houses, pianos

And all other products people of various nations are desiring

Will not save those facing death

When trying to comprehend that they are about to die

People will learn

That electric appliances will lend no helping hand

How jewelry, money

And all those riches that have tickled the desire of mankind

Carries little significance

Is another thing people will come to realize

The biggest diamond ring

Will mean nothing if one does not have food to eat now

Humans will learn how powerless money truly is

No matter how stocked one’s bank account may be

If they are unable to find food for the day

And that goes on for three, four days or a week to 10 days

All they can do is perish

So people

Will be forced to renounce their worship of money and materials

Something they had thought would grant them easy living and happy life

Instead, people will learn that

It is far better to grow corn, tomatoes and other crops

Isn the smallest of gardens

Nations that will not be torn by war

Or ravaged by famine

Cannot escape the collapse of socioeconomic order

The same shall happen in socialist states as well

For even those countries

Are not isolated from the global economy

It, too, will experience similar chaos

The Soviet Union maintained powerful sovereignty over its land

But facing war, disaster and epidemics near the end of the 20th century

Along with other turmoils spreading through the Earth

A movement spearheaded by the so-called youths desiring freedom

Will start to eat away at its authority

As freedom of expression

And various other rights are being oppressed in the nation

An uprising shall occur

Centering the young generation

Believing that humans should be allowed to live more freely

The movement shall reach East European states as well

Spurring those of the socialist nations

To struggle to live free of government oppression

When the era of night shall end

The distinction between socialist and freedom states shall be nonexistent

As for both nations

The order they had been maintaining will collapse

Mankind will continue to live somewhere on the face of this planet

Eating food, wearing clothes and building houses

As people will live truly as they should

Moscow, Tokyo, London and India

Will all be the same, across the globe

Thus despite the different histories carried by every city

By the time morning comes

It will only mean that people were brought up in those areas

As how they live as humans

Shall be uniform across the land

This means

That governments and economic systems

Which you now see truly as solid, will fall

Thus it will have humans experience an era of massive change

Those who living on terra firma today

May not be able to accept that such a paradigm shift shall come

Yet, in the long history of human existence

Various changes have taken place

And in the universe, such cycle of life is the norm

Where things that are made and taken apart

And made anew after being broken down

Considering that

The change you are about to experience may not even big after all

Modern humans

May believe what they have experienced is true and solid

Understanding that 10 or 20 years in the future will only be an expansion of their current life

But it cannot be said that what is to come will reflect that wish

A paradigm shift will be agonizing to the human race

On the other hand, it is also highly effective

In devastating the various desires, common sense and prejudice

Mankind has continued to carry

People shall realize that

After autumn comes winter

And after winter comes spring

Things that were destroyed will be reborn anew

However

Such destruction does not represent the end of all beings

It only means that a season of change has arrived upon our circle of life

In fact

That change is heading towards the wonderful morning

At all times, you shall believe in the morn

Wish for the order on Earth in the era of night to swiftly collapse

For morning shall come at a speed you do not expect

And in the morn

A tremendous energy shall spring out of every human

Allowing mankind to start a new era of productivity
